FOUR DAYS!

Hey Guys and Gals!  I am leaving for Guatemala in FOUR DAYS! It is hard to believe. I am excited but nervous too. I am working my butt off this week on some big projects to try and get extra money to have in the bank for the trip.

Keep me and the students in your prayers!

Raising support for My Mission

MY MISSION!
Hello Friends!  As most of you know my name is Lance Brumfield! I wanted to let you all know that I am about to embark on a new adventure in my life! As of July 30th, 2011 I will be moving to Quetzaltenango Guatemala!
In past months doors have closed in my life, and as always the Lord has opened new ones for me, leading me to the opportunities to serve. In a leap of faith I am going to drop everything and move to Guatemala to serve our Lord and also some wonderful children of Quetzaltenango, or as the locals call it Xela (Pronounced Shay-la) by Teaching at Inter-American-School as a Volunteer Missionary!! =)
During the year there I will be teaching athletics, and potentially in other areas, as well as leading Chapel Sermons and Worship Services.  My overall goal is to just be a servant leader to these children as well as the other missionaries there at ISA, and to use whatever skills and talents the Lord has blessed me with to serve all of OUR missions as Christians.
TO DO THIS I AM GIONG TO NEED HELP!
First and foremost, I am going to ask you all to pray for me when I cross your mind. Being away from home a year and constantly pouring out I know that I will need help keeping my cup full and able to continue to pour out for others.  I have created a blog ( http://mymissioninguatemala.blogspot.com  ) where I am going to try to keep up with my adventures of being a missionary in Guatemala and share the love that has been shared with me and also ask for prayer requests, etc. I would love if you all followed my blog and feel free to share whatever you want there!
Secondly, and equally important I think…. As a volunteer Missionary I am going to need help with raising monetary support as well.
I have raised enough money to buy one round trip ticket, but I am hoping to be able to raise support to buy a second round trip ticket to be able to come home for Christmas and be with my family at that special time of year.  Also, I will have a small living stipend to help with living from the school, but speaking with past missionaries there they all definitely recommend raising support at home to live comfortably.  It doesn’t look like I am going to be able to defer my student loans while I am gone, so If I could raise enough support to cover that $150 per month that would help tremendously.

Any amount that you can offer would be a wonderful help to me while I am gone and would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me if you would like to help in prayer or by offering my mission monetary support…both are such a wonderful blessing.
Please pass this on to your friends and family! =) Thank you for reading and supporting our Mission!
Dearly and Sincerely,  Lance D. Brumfield

Rounding things up!

Hello all! =)  So today is the 24th and it is right at two months before I head to Guatemala!

I am just rounding things up and preparing myself for departure, learning what I will and won't need while I am there, and trying to raise support. I will be sending out letters soon and hopefully have a video to go along with it if I can find a camera! haha  Speaking of cameras! Such is one thing I have gotten myself for the year I will be in Xela. There will be plenty moments to capture so I fiiinally broke down and got a descent camera used of craigslist. Yaaay! I am excited, it takes wonderful photos.

Until next time! Email me if you have any questions!
